For Week 2 of our Wellness Series, we want to share tips and resources from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Some of their tips listed were:
· Meditate
· Take deep breaths
· Stretch
· Try to eat well balanced/healthy meals
· Exercise regularly
· Get plenty of sleep
· Take time to do activities you enjoy
· Avoid alcohol and drugs
One very important tip I want to highlight is to take time to connect with others. Remember to talk to people you trust about your concerns and talk about how you are feeling. It is easy to feel alone and isolated while stuck inside, but technology is a wonderful thing and we should take advantage of the good it can bring us.
Next week we will be sharing tips on how to use technology to connect virtually during this time.
Remember, if stress is getting in the way of your daily activities for several days, be sure to reach out to your healthcare provider. You might be able to be referred to a mental health counselor, as some are doing teleservice at this time.
