Count It! Lock It! Drop It! is excited to announce the launch of our new training content series: Pursuing Wellness.
The middle and high school trainings will cover the following objectives:
- Understanding risks associated with misusing prescription drugs including self-medicating/sharing
- Identifying safe prescription medication practices
- Utilizing healthier self-care practice methods including reaching out to resources
While both trainings are similar, CLD realizes the vast differences in middle and high school aged students; so they will slightly differ in their content. The middle school training will focus on self-care practices, while the high school training will focus more on how to have hard conversations and talk to friends who may be struggling.
The parent training will focus on how children’s perception of harm and access influences their behavior, how parents can communicate about the importance of prescription drug safety, and inform about community support and resources. We will also focus on motivational interviewing and CRAFT techniques for them to practice in their own homes.
These trainings have been changed to webinars in order to abide by the CDC social distancing guidelines.
